One of life’s chores is doing the laundry, there is just no way getting around it. Not unless you are rich enough to have your laundry done professionally or just buy new clothes when you run out of clean clothes. But for those of us that must do laundry every week, sometimes two or three times a week, it can be a challenge.

If you are lucky enough to have a large laundry room, why not decorate it so it is pleasing to you and you actually might enjoy doing the laundry. Decide what colors you might paint the walls, or the décor that you like. Whether it is antique, modern or just bright, it is all up to you. You are the one that spends so much time there, make it fit you.
Personally I like the old Hollywood movies theme. I painted two walls a soft yellow, behind the washer and dryer and the wall on the left. The other two walls are painted beige. Through the years I have collected many posters of the old forties Hollywood movies. I lamented them and put them up on the walls. I put some pretty tiles on the floor and a couple of area rugs. I love going in there and looking at the posters.

Of course there are different ways in styling your laundry room. If you have a real small room, you can put shelves up behind the washer and dryer, or if room some cabinets. Even if the room is small you can still decorate it with old washboards and the like. Try putting a boarder up and around the ceiling area. Whatever type of boarder you want will do. If money allows, put in a new floor, please no carpet. There are times when the washer might overflow and then you will have to pull up that new carpet. It is just not a good idea.

Organize your laundry room to fit your needs, not others. You are the one that does the laundry the most; therefore it should fit your needs and style. If you can, put up shelves, or cabinets, they will certainly save a lot of room. And you will know where everything is from laundry soap, bleach, dryer sheets, you name it. Some people even have their ironing board and iron set up in the laundry room, how convenient is that? If you have a large laundry room try putting a folding table up against one wall. Then you can unfold it when needed, that will save some space, consider a movable laundry hamper, that can be moved to give you more room.

Whether you have a large laundry room or a tiny one, as the ones found in apartment buildings, you can make it likeable and enjoyable to do laundry. Although many will say no matter what the laundry room looks like they do not like to do laundry, but at least remodeling a bit will help.
